Grandmaster Eduard Gufeld

GM Eduard Gufeld is a well known and loved figure in international chess and has been called a “chess artist” by nature. He has written many chess books on topics of biography, theory, and practice, including the Russian edition of “Encyclopedia of Chess Openings.” He is also a teacher, journalist, and promoter of chess, and one who considers the artistic component of the game to be supreme. GM Gufeld passed away 2002.
