Woman International Master Esther Epstein

WIM Esther Epstein (b. May 10, 1954) now makes her home in Newton, Mass. with her husband, GM Alexander Ivanov. Esther won the U.S. Women's Championship in 1991 and 1997. She was also the USSR Women's Vice-Champion in1976 prior to her arrival in the United States and has been a member of the U.S. Women's Olympiad team four times.

Esther is currently working as a Systems Manager for the Bio-Molecular Engineering Research Center at Boston University. Her hobbies include reading, music and teaching chess to her son.
